Timothy Sturgeon is a Senior Research Affiliate at the Industrial Performance Center at MIT. His research focuses on the process of global integration, with an emphasis on offshoring and outsourcing practices in the electronics, automotive, and services industries. He works actively with policymakers in international development agencies, industrialized countries, and developing countries on effective policy responses to global integration.

Petr Pavlínek is a professor of Geography at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and Charles University. His research and publications focus on the regional development effects of foreign direct investment, with a particular interest in the development and restructuring of the European automotive industry.
